It’s a great train ride to Silverton. I’ve taken it 4x in my life since I was a kid and I love it. You can’t believe how this train goes through the mountains and it made you feel like you went back in time. It’s a fun ride for the family and I wound recommend it when you go to Colorado.

I road this train as a kid back in 1980 while on vacation. Lots of fun! We had the windows open and it was smoky, but not sure if it was from the train or couple chain smoking cigarettes in the seat in front of us.😅

Me and my father rode this train a few times in the 80's. Just us two, left the rest of the family in Texas. Before he died almost 20 years ago he said that was some of the best memories of his life. 😢

Oh no burning coal is so bad for the environment oh no! Stfu. If all of America ceased carbon emissions for the forseeable future it would have ZERO affect on the global AQI. And a side note , the processed silver was stacked up at the rail head 2 feet high with no guard , grandfather said it wasn't worth it even to pick up. Worked up there many years , we drove up there one day to visit him. He was a machinist and filled in as fireman and engineer near the end , due to labor cost and I believe union issues.
